マタイによる福音 16:13-19
イエスは、フィリポ・カイサリア地方に行ったとき、弟子たちに、「人々は、人の子のことを何者だと言っているか」とお尋ねになった。弟子たちは言った。「『洗礼者ヨハネだ』と言う人も、『エリヤだ』と言う人もいます。ほかに、『エレミヤだ』とか、『預言者の一人だ』と言う人もいます。」イエスが言われた。「それでは、あなたがたはわたしを何者だと言うのか。」シモン・ペトロが、「あなたはメシア、生ける神の子です」と答えた。すると、イエスはお答えになった。「シモン・バルヨナ、あなたは幸いだ。あなたにこのことを現したのは、人間ではなく、わたしの天の父なのだ。わたしも言っておく。あなたはペトロ。わたしはこの岩の上にわたしの教会を建てる。陰府の力もこれに対抗できない。わたしはあなたに天の国の鍵を授ける。あなたが地上でつなぐことは、天上でもつながれる。あなたが地上で解くことは、天上でも解かれる。」
13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”
14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you that you are Peter,and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades[b] will not overcome it.19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be[c] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
