キリストに倣いて(1.13.7 誘惑に抵抗すること)

　ゆえに私たちは誘惑に会っても落胆してはならない。かえってあらゆる患難の時に神が私たちを助けてくださるようますます熱心に祈るがよい。主は聖パウロの言葉の通り「試練とともに勝つべき方法をも与えてくださる」(コリント前書10.13）に相違ないからである。

　だから私たちは誘惑の時、苦しみの時、いつも神のおん手の下に、自分の霊魂を謙遜にしよう。というのは、主は謙遜な者を救い、かつこれを引き立ててくださるからである。

　CHAPTER XIII  Of resisting  temptation

7. Therefore we ought not to despair when we are tempted, but the more fervently should cry unto God, that He will vouchsafe to help us in all our tribulation; and that He will, as St. Paul saith, with the temptation make a way to escape that we may be able to bear it.

 Let us therefore humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God in all temptation and trouble, for He will save and exalt such as are of an humble spirit.
